Zazzle Media: I’m Bowing Out.

This is it. A post I had imagined writing a thousand times in my head following our acquisition in 2016 is now falling onto the page. Ten years and 183 days after first sitting down to work on Zazzle I’m bowing out – and it’s been the adventure of a lifetime.

From October 1st myself and my brilliant wife and Zazzle’s office maestro will be unemployed once more, some 3,836 days since we were last in that same position and before sitting down to kick start what would become one of the world’s first truly content-centric digital marketing agencies.

For on that day on April 1st, 2009, and unbeknown to us at that time, we welcomed our ’third child’ into the world – and nothing would ever be the same again.

The journey from that dining room table to the multi-location, international agency we now are has been truly life changing; one packed full of both insane highs and crushing lows, all of which was only made possible by the brilliant people we’ve had the privilege to work alongside.

You see, as I’m learning, leaving a business is easy, but leaving the people that have battled alongside you is an entirely different proposition and there are no words that I can share here that would do that justice.

We are both going to miss every single ‘Zazzler’ immensely, both those from the past as well as the incredible current team and we can both say, without hesitation, that we’re always going to be here should any one of you need anything. So please, don’t be a stranger.

And to any Zazzler reading this – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It may feel like the end of an era but it’s simply the beginning of a new, exciting one as part of the best agency network on earth and with all the opportunity that it will bring.

And we’ll be watching from afar in the knowledge that there is only one thing better than being able to say, ‘look at what we achieved together’ and that’s ‘look at what they are doing now.’

Of course, many are already asking ‘what’s next’ and those that know me will be very much aware of my complete and utter inability to stop, breathe and sit.

I will attempt to do that for a short time, but I’ll then be looking to extend my work with start-ups, both as part of the Haatch Ventures team and personally, working alongside those with an idea and the willpower to force it into being to build special companies.

As for other things there is still life in the old dog yet 🙂 so do reach out to me direct if you fancy a coffee or to talk ideas!

And remember Team Zazzle that nothing is impossible if you want it enough. Stay curious, execute at pace and don’t take ’no’ for an answer.

Thank you for everything.
