Simon is a journalist-turned-digital convert who learned very quickly how ‘big’ the internet would be and how it was changing the information distribution landscape forever.
Having built his own successful content sites in the early 2000s he could see, first-hand, how audiences were migrating from print to digital.
That insight and vision saw Simon progress very quickly, becoming the youngest ever national magazine editor in the UK, overseeing titles in both automotive and specialist interests.
At the same time he began investing time and start-up capital to other online businesses.
Rather than being a subject specialist his focus was on creating and growing specialist audiences of value – something that still drives him today.
His online knowledge in the early days of the internet soon saw him heading up projects to launch many traditional brands online and that success pushed him towards the creation of the UK’s first purely content-led digital marketing agency.
That agency was Zazzle Media and, with a brilliant team behind him, he quickly grew it from 0 – £1 million+ in annual profits.
Zazzle Media was acquired in 2016 and Simon continues to work in the business, driving growth and innovation across the Group.
